Exploring the joyful, lightness of being together in the wild, wet and wonderful natural world. Your children will be safe, secure, and supported to be curious and engaged. There are multiple playful ways of connecting, creating, and contributing to the wellbeing and growth of self, others and community. It will we a collaboration of potential and vitality.

Activities will include but are not limited to:

Forest and beach walks, climbing, jumping, running, planting and gardening, flora and fauna identification, gathering, sorting, classifying and connecting deeply with the season and location, while extending and opening up to the history and culture of our area. Stories, songs, co-operative group games and creative activities. Recognizing patterns of growth, change and transformation within the natural and cultural systems that govern our lives today. We will discover the natural world inside us and outside us by collaborating freely and playfully within a safe, secure, supportive, encouraging and wonder filled environment. No worries about the gross and fine motor development and the cognitive and emotional development, there will be an inherent natural and wholistic organic unfolding of these skills through playful engaging activities. What is important is a love of curiosity, learning and living. I endeavor to recognize each child’s vitality and potential through nurturing their competence and providing them with the fertile ground of security and love.

When:

8 weeks beginning October 6 – November 26 (a new session will be offered each season)

Tuesday and Thursdays

1:00 – 3:00 pm plus a half hour for reflection and reconnection back to family/caregivers

Where:

Various outdoor locations in Halfmoon Bay

Who:

3 – 6 years and a willingness to be outside for 2 ½ hours.

Required:

sturdy, warm footwear, a small backpack for snack, water bottle, rain gear, extra warm clothing, mittens, hat etc. Weather conditions can change. Dressing for the weather is important. I believe children will self-regulate what they wear if given the chance. Getting wet and dirty is part of the fun. Experiencing cold and knowing ways to warm up are important learning experiences.
